Lycopene
helps shield us all from hardening of the arteries
Researchers at Tufts University and Boston University
analyzed health data of participants in the Framingham Offspring Study. The
highest level of Lycopene intake was
associated with a 26% decrease in coronary heart disease which is disease in the
blood vessels of the heart and a 17% reduction in cardiovascular disease which
could be blood vessel clogging anywhere. The study is published August 2013 in
the British Journal of Nutrition.
