Green Tea Extract

InVite®’s decaffeinated green tea extract provides powerful catechins, particularly Epigallocatechin gallate or EGCG for short, which is the most valuable antioxidant component of green tea. This liquid green tea extract is also oxalate-free, fluoride-free and derived from an organic source. Dietary supplementation with 90mg of EGCG increases fat oxidation, contributes to a reduction in body fat and supports cardiovascular health. Green tea may also reduce the risk of breast and prostate cancer although the FDA has concluded that there is very little scientific evidence for this claim. This product is high in Vitamin C, containing 60mg per 30 drops. Some scientific evidence suggests that consumption of antioxidant vitamins, such as Vitamin C, may reduce the risk of certain forms of cancer.

The antioxidant power of green tea may benefit many of the body’s major organs. Along with its excellent capacity for weight control, green tea also has great benefits for the upper respiratory tract, dental health, skin health and appearance, and blood vessel function. Green tea provides great protection in the digestive tract, thereby mediating inflammatory processes in the body. It attacks the harmful bacteria while avoiding the healthy bacteria that’s essential for healthy digestion.

Green tea may help to increase energy levels as well by reducing post-prandial fatigue, maintain blood sugar levels already in normal range, increasing satiety signals. Green Tea has naturally occurring L-Theanine, a non-protein building amino acid that reduces occasional worry and anxiety by increasing alpha waves of the brain known to slow down constant thoughts and buffering stress. With a diverse range of benefits supporting overall health and longevity, green tea is one of nature’s most beneficial healing foods.

Expert Discussion

Green Tea and Green Tea Tincture

Jerry Hickey is a pharmacist and radio personality and fills the esteemed role of Scientific Director and President of Invite Health. He has spent his professional life analyzing nutritional information and medical studies with the aim of creating the highest quality and most natural nutraceuticals for user’s maximum health benefits. Here, Jerry speaks about the benefits of Green Tea and Green Tea Tincture…

Big news for green tea lovers. We have an organic Green Tea Tincture. It’s kosher. It’s caffeine free. It’s not from China. It’s free of fluoride contaminants. There’s no oxalate in it. All the good things are in there, none of the bad things. This is a green tea that’s very safe. I recommend in the winter months that you have your child gargle with the green tea twice a day. And you too, swish it around your mouth, gargle and swallow twice a day.

For kids, first of all, it has an impact on the bacteria that are involved with dental carries, the cariogenic bacteria. Second of all, it has a minimizing effect of bad breath bacteria, Solobacterium moorei. Flossing and brushing your teeth does not impact that bacterium. You can floss and brush to your heart’s content, but you could still have bad breath if that bacteria is in your mouth. For kids, if you add a squirt of the Green Tea Tincture to their soda, it takes away the corrosive effects of the soda. So the next time they’re having a glass of Cola, add a squirt of Green Tea Tincture and you’ll be saving on your dental bills.

Another interesting thing that was discovered is if you drink green tea when eating fish, it blocks the absorption of the mercury from the fish. Now, some fish like salmon are pretty clean. But other fish like tuna, the big tuna or swordfish, bluefish or mackerel, they can have a lot of mercury.

There are thousands and thousands and thousands of studies on green tea. There isn’t a square inch of your body that doesn’t get some kind of benefit from green tea, whether you’re a kid or an adult or elderly. There isn’t a square inch of your body that will not benefit from it.

For instance, recently they’ve shown that green tea keeps you younger. People who drink a lot of green tea, biologically they’re seven years younger than people their same age who do not drink green tea. It’s because it keeps the genes healthy. It wakes the genes up. Just like your skin gets wrinkled, your genes get old and wrinkly and they don’t work well and that ages you. If your genes are younger, your body is younger. If the genes in your heart are younger, your heart is younger. If the genes in your muscles are younger, your muscles are stronger. If the genes in your brain are younger, your brain is younger. It’s as simple as that. They found that green tea keeps genes consistently, working and younger. There’s a lot of interesting stuff you find about this beverage and it’s the second most commonly consumed beverage in the world after water.

Green tea has an effect on the immune system in your mouth. You release peroxidase in your saliva. That’s like hydrogen peroxide, so if you eat a piece of food and there’s some mold on it or there’s bacteria or viruses, parasites, yeast, anything that enters your mouth, these things are able to isolate the bacteria and destroy it. That’s what they do. But also it stimulates something else. In your mouth, in your saliva, you release something called polymorphonuclear leukocytes.

Polymorphonuclear leukocytes are a type of white blood cell that should be in your saliva. That’s why it’s so important not to have a dry mouth. It’s synthesized and secreted into the saliva. These cells are packed with something called myeloperoxidases. It’s the job of myeloperoxidases to cleanse your food and cleanse your palate of viruses, bacteria, parasites, yeast.

When they gave elderly people a concentrated Green Tea Tincture twice a day during a three month study, the level of oral peroxidases increased by 280%. And even if they just rinsed their mouth twice a day, the level of oral peroxidases improved by 270%.

The studies on weight loss are pretty dynamic; there are a number of studies now that show our Green Tea Tincture improving metabolism and helping to burn fat. These studies, like the study at the Maastricht University in the Netherlands showed that when you consume enough green tea, you burn about 200 to 300 additional calories per day without changing your lifestyle or modifying your activity level, your exercise level or your diet. Simply by adding sufficient green tea to your diet will burn an additional minimum of 200 calories per day. Now, that has a good impact. I mean that could be like half an hour on the treadmill for some people. If you’re walking at a slower rate it could be 15 minutes for most people on a treadmill. 200 calories; that’s a lot of calories. So if you’re going to eat smart and you’re going to take a walk and then add the green tea, you can really help keep your weight under control by getting rid of the fat.

Here’s another study from Maastricht University. After intense dieting, the people who dieted and went through all that pain of dieting gained 40% of their weight back within the next three months. But if they give them a powerful, concentrated green tea every day, they actually continued to lose weight. It’s in the Journal of Obesity Research.

Men were placed on a weight loss diet for two weeks and then added a green tea supplement to their diet. So some men were on a placebo and some men were on green tea supplements. It’s in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Those on the green tea supplements have a significant drop in their weight. They had a smaller waist size and less body fat within just three months. And they’ve also shown, by the way, if you do green tea before you exercise you can burn an additional 17 to 20% of your fat.

When most people exercise, they’re burning the sugars that are stored in their muscle, called glycogen. They’re not burning fat. When you use green tea, it kind of flicks a physiological trigger and instead of burning the sugar in your muscle, you’re burning fat.

Now, a number of things come out of that. First of all, you have a greater source of energy, so you’re going to have more endurance before you hit that wall and become fatigued. So you’re going to actually perform better, you’re going to be able to exercise longer; you’re going to have a better workout. Second of all, you’re going to burn an additional 17 to 20% of fat. I would call that a win-win situation. It’s pretty much accepted that green tea burns fat.

A lot of people have a problem with overeating, especially around the holidays. They did a study recently in Lund University in Sweden. It’s in the Nutrition Journal which is a great journal. It’s a very honest journal. When they gave participants green tea after a meal, they felt much more satiated. It was helping to prevent hunger.

Green tea isn’t just for losing weight and it’s not just for the immune system in your mouth, though it’s nice to keep your immune system working, especially in the winter. Let me tell you, every 28 or 29 drops (that’s a dropper-full), represents a big American cup of green tea. If you look at the studies on prostate health or the studies on breast health, on colon health, on losing weight, on the immune system, on the skin, on the brain, on good mood, it’s always four to six American size cups of green tea that gets the best effect. So, I don’t think anybody is going to sit around and brew four to six cups of green tea. I don’t think most people have the patience or time to do that. I don’t think they want to do that. So here’s what I do for my wife and myself. I brew a cup of green tea, morning and evening and then I add two or three squirts of the tincture. That’s one American sized cup of green tea actually equaling three big cups or four big cups. I do that twice a day. That’s like eight cups. I’m done. We’re covered. We’re getting all of those benefits that green tea provides even in the wildest study and I match the amount they were getting. You know, in some studies they’re doing 8 to 10 cups. In the afternoon, I take a couple of additional cups because I want it for my immune system. I am flooding myself of green tea right now for my immune system, but also because I feel full when I do it and I’m not snacking and I’m losing weight successfully.

Here’s the next set of studies: Green tea helps with age-related disabilities. This is a very interesting study, because there are a number of separate studies that back it up. This is in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition: In a three-year-long study of over 14,000 elderly people, those who drank the most green tea had a big drop in the risk of functional disability. And what that means is the people who had the most green tea remained the most independent. It was the easier for them to get out of a chair. It was easier for them to cut their food and feed themselves. It was easier for them to get dressed on their own. It was easier for them to take a walk. It was easier for them to drive their car. It was easier for them to go shopping, all of those things.

Why do I believe it? There are a couple of studies like this now. They took a group of older women at Texas Tech University down in Lubbock, Texas and they published this in Osteoporosis International. They had this group of postmenopausal women doing Tai Chi exercises, this wonderful rhythmic movement. The other group, they gave Tai Chi and green tea. If they added the green tea to the exercise, they actually built more muscle strength and had better bone health than the exercise alone. If they did the exercise, it absolutely improved their strength and it had a positive impact on their bones. But if they added green tea to the exercise, it actually improved their strength better than the exercise alone and had an impact on their muscles and their bone health actually improved better than with exercise alone.

I want to read you a couple of letters I got from my clients. Here’s Jack in Garden City Park, Long Island. He’s been on the Green Tea Tincture for four years. “I don’t know what I would do without taking my green tea every day. The green tea gives me energy throughout the day and I feel very relaxed and alert. I am grateful for it.”

Here’s Laura in Forest Hills, Queens. “I always had immediate clear-headedness and alertness after drinking your green tea. I feel sharp and energized for several hours. Its effects are wonderful. It’s also cleared my skin and improved my digestion. No negatives.”

Richard in Elmont, Queens. He’s been on our green tree drops for three years. “Your green tea drops are a favorite of mine. I find them invigorating, soothing and refreshing. It mixes with water. It seems to energize me both day and night.”

We’re getting feedback from people that they feel full, they’re satiated, they’re losing weight, and they have great endurance and energy from the green tea.

Green Tea: "Burn Calories While Increasing Your Antioxidant Protection"
InVite Health

What is Green Tea?
Green tea comes from the same plant as black tea, but does not undergo the fermentation process needed to make black tea. Green tea is very high in antioxidants known as catechins. The most important green tea antioxidant is EGCG, one of the catechins.

Where does Green Tea come from?
Green tea grows in rainy areas with tropical and subtropical climates throughout the world. However, Japan, India and China are the most well known sources of commercial grade green tea.

  • Green tea and its major antioxidant EGCG have been the subject of numerous human clinical studies. EGCG has been shown to inhibit the uptake of fat into fat cells and at higher doses, has been shown to burn fat and reduce a person's waistline - sometimes considerably.
  • Green tea quickly travels throughout your system and offers major protection for the digestive tract, a man's prostate, a woman's breasts and cervical tissue thereby reducing the risk of dangerous cellular changes.
  • Green tea has an effect on upper respiratory tract health and is very beneficial during flu and cold season. Green tea controls the bacteria associated with bad breath and gum disease and is hard on problematic bacteria in the digestive tract including yeasts, yet ignores the intestine's healthier bacteria that are required for good digestion.
  • Green tea may powerfully improve the health of the skin, rejuvenating old skin cells and improving the look of the skin. According to research, green tea may even improve the texture and look of aging skin.
  • Green tea has powerful vascular effects helping to promote the health of blood vessel walls and protecting healthy circulation to the heart and brain, the sites of vascular changes.
  • Organic source and free of oxalate, fluoride, pesticides and other contaminants
  • Free of calories and alcohol in a base of natural glycerin
  • The addition of Vitamin C and natural lemon improves the bioavailability and absorption of the antioxidant constituents
  • Delicious and convenient; just one dropper packs the antioxidant activity of up to two large cups of green tea
  • Safe to consume with Coumadin (warfarin)
  • Made using GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
