Fish Oil Research Update

2004
Doctors at the University of Dresden found that supplementing
their patients with fish oil after surgery sped up the rate of
recovery and shortened their hospital stay versus placebo. Fish
oil users also spent less time in intensive care. The pancreas
and liver of the fish oil users also worked better.

Other studies have shown that fish oils reduce complications and
improve healing after surgery. Other helpful nutrients for post
surgical healing include L-Arginine, L-Glutamine, Beta-Carotene,
Zinc, and Collagen Repair Formula. If the patient has trouble
regaining their strength and stamina consider trying InVite Peak
Performance and Jerry's Greens.
Food Allergies and Ear Infections
A new study shows that 45% of the kids with otitis media with
effusion, a common type of ear infection where the infection is
accompanied with fluid build up behind the eardrum also have food
allergies. The study appears in the June issue of Otolaryngology,
Head and Neck Surgery.

Years ago I read a study from Europe involving children with
frequent ear infections. When all dairy was removed from their
diet, the number of ear infections dropped dramatically, clearing
up completely in some of then children. There is plenty of evidence
that ear infections are connected to food allergies in some children.
Ear infection is the greatest reason for trips to the pediatrician
in young children.
Walking Reverses Impotence in Obese Men
Italian researchers report that sedentary men may be able to
reduce their risk of erectile dysfunction by performing regular
physical activity that burns 200 calories a day, or walking 2
miles at a brisk pace. Men placed on a good diet where calories
were restricted to 1,950 a day, and also exercised lost about
15 % of their weight in two years, and a third of them regained
sexual function. The study appears in this weeks Journal of
the American Medical Association.
