Curcumin quickly boosts brain power and attention in healthy older people
Australian researchers from Swinburne University split 60 healthy older people, ranging in age from 60 to 85 into two groups. One group received placebo and the second group received a well absorbed Curcumin for four weeks.
The Curcumin supplement gave obvious advantages and benefits in this small amount of time. One hour after supplementing, Curcumin improved working memory and boosted sustained attention. Additionally the Curcumin group was less fatigued after a mental challenge. Measured feelings of calmness and contentedness increased in the Curcumin group and generalized fatigue improved by 2% while overall fatigue increased by 17% in the placebo group.
The study is published online ahead of print in the Journal of Psychopharmacology.
