Mushroom Hx®
Mushroom Hx® provides nutritional support for healthy immune function, offering eight of the most scientifically scrutinized mushrooms. The specific benefits of these immune-boosting mushrooms vary widely, depending on the type of mushroom. Their healthy constituents include a variety of antioxidants, polyphenols, polysaccharides, flavonoids, natural Vitamin D and other vitamins, essential fatty acids, minerals, and unique carotenoids. Together, these nutrients provide excellent support for the immune system and metabolism. The Science Behind Mushrooms
Research from Integrative medicine explains how mushrooms contribute to immune health and help to modulate inflammation by decreasing the production of inflammatory cytokines, especially in the upper respiratory tract. Mushrooms like Cordyceps help to regulate cytokine production and therefore help to support the health and function of the lungs. [1]
Research from Mediators of Inflammation states that intake of Reishi mushrooms helps to modulate the immune system and helps to support liver function and health at the cellular level. Reishi mushroom intake allows for the regulation and activation of inflammation and immune cells such as lymphocytes, macrophages, and natural killer cells, resulting in the production of cytokines, including interleukins. [2]
Research from Mycobiology classifies Chaga mushroom as an immune system and anti-inflammatory agent. The active substances in Chaga Mushroom are thought to be oxygenated triterpenes. The mushroom contains large amounts of betulin or betulinic acid, a chemical that is being studied for use as a immune system-response agent because of its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and also the full spectrum of immune-stimulating phytochemicals found in other medicinal mushrooms such as maitake and shiitake mushrooms.
