Important Components of Prostate Formula 14™
Saw palmetto and Pygeum africanum are two herbs used for centuries in herbal traditions to support the size, shape and function of an aging prostate gland. Beta-sitosterol is one of several plant sterols, and is a white, waxy powder that has been shown to support cholesterol already in normal range. Beta-sitosterol has also been used in conjunction with Saw palmetto to support hair growth in male pattern baldness and to support prostate health. Pumpkin Seed, Green Tea Extract, ALA, Lycopene and Resveratrol may have additional protective effects for the prostate. Zinc is particularly beneficial to support the normal size of the prostate.†

The Science Behind The Ingredients In Prostate Formula 14
Research published in Acta Pharmacology states that saw palmetto supplementation helps to support the function of the lower urinary tract in men by inhibiting inflammation and inflammatory enzymes. It has also found to help control inflammation and the size and shape of an aging prostate gland. [1]
A review published in Nutritional Research in Practice states that supplementation with pumpkin seed powder helped to improve quality of life and urinary tract function in male participants. [2]
Research published in Nutrition and Cancer states that zinc acts as an antioxidant agent helping to support the cells of the prostate and helps to inhibit citrate oxidation in cells. [3]
Research published in Nutrients states that EGCG’s, which are the most abundant catechins in green tea has been reported to have stress resistance and neuroprotective properties. Its reactive oxygen species scavenging activity makes it a potent stress mediator, as it can also regulate the stress induced by metal ions. It is known that tea polyphenols can induce the expression of different antioxidant enzymes and help to decrease the DNA oxidative damage including in the prostate. [4]
A Review published in Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) looked at the therapeutic, health support benefits of ALA supplementation. Evidence for ALA use as an anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, energy-producing and antioxidant support is significant. ALA supplementation was proven as an antioxidant support and also shown to improve glucose function in healthy and diabetic patients, function and use of vitamin C, increased eNOS activity and activated Phase II detoxification in the liver via the transcription factor Nrf2. [5]
Research published in Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity states that resveratrol helps to modulate the immune system and acts as a potent antioxidant. This was seen as supplementation with resveratrol increased the number of helper T-cells along with significant decreases in circulating, inflammatory cytokines in human subjects. [6]
