The Science Behind Ingredients In Bio-Curcumin 5-Loxin
The effectiveness of Bio-Curcumin with 5-Loxin is due to its high bioavailability and high absorption rate. Made using BCM-95®, a patented formulation of curcumin which is made by reconstituting curcumin with the non-curcumioid components of turmeric, which has shown to increase the bioavailability substantially. In a clinical study published in The Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences to determine the bioavailability of curcuminoids, the bioavailability of BCM-95® was about 6.93-fold compared to normal curcumin and about 6.3-fold compared to curcumin-lecithin-piperine formula. 5-Loxin® is a patented Boswellia serrata extract enriched with 30% 3-O-acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid (AKBA), which exhibits potential anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting the 5-lipoxygenase enzyme. 5-Loxin may exert its beneficial effects by supporting normal inflammatory responses and joint health. A review of Curcumin’s effect on human health was published in Foods which reported on various health benefits with its supplementation, including the support of muscle recovery and for performance in active people. Curcumin is a polyphenol that has shown to target multiple signaling molecules while at the same time demonstrating cellular activity. This has helped to support its many health-supporting benefits. The studies conducted found a significant effect on various measures of oxidative stress including plasma activities of Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase, as well as concentrations of glutathione peroxidase and lipid peroxides.
