The Science Behind The Ingredients In PerioDental® Refreshing Gum & Breath Spray
Research published in The Archives of Oral Biology states that green tea can help to provide oral health and protection against oxidative stress. Green tea provides microbial balance in the mouth helping to promote health of the teeth and gums. Tea polyphenols help to provide support for the immune system as well. Additionally, green tea polyphenols can protect against bad breath through modification of odorant sulphur components. Oral cavity oxidative stress and inflammation as a result of poor lifestyle practices like smoking cigarettes may be reduced in the presence of green tea polyphenols. [1]
Research from the Journal of Conservative Dentistry states that grape seed extract helps to decrease oxidative stress in teeth and gums and is capable of supporting the mineralization of teeth in humans. [2]
Research published in the International Journal of Dentistry states that clove oil helps to support the health and structure of teeth as well as help protect the integrity of teeth. Clove oil was said to promote remineralization of teeth. [3]
Research from the Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research states that Aloe Vera is a highly effective agent for the support of oral health. Aloe Vera is a great source of vitamins, which includes A, B C,E and folic acid. As this plant grows in soil rich in minerals it becomes a rich source of calcium, sodium, potassium, magnesium, iron, copper and zinc which are essential for strong, healthy teeth. Aloe vera is also a good source of polysaccharides which are able to provide strong defenses in the mouth. It is also proved to be an effective anti-inflammatory agent. [4]
