Alkalizer Powder

Alkalizer Powder® is a powerful formula made up of Potassium and Magnesium that supports healthy acid levels in the body. It may also support blood pressure and blood sugar already within a normal range. It is beneficial before workouts to help support bone health and the maintenance of mineral electrolytes. These minerals are also necessary for proper immune system function and for brain health. Potassium and Magnesium are important minerals for hydration, especially after a workout. The amino acid Beta-alanine has been shown to support muscle health, as well.†

Most Americans eat far too many foods that are later converted into acidic compounds by the body.  Consuming five to seven servings of fresh vegetables and fruits daily maintains alkalinity for most individuals, yet most Americans consume very few servings of these important foods which can lead to metabolic, muscle and immune concerns.†

According to NHANES (National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey) 98% of Americans do not get enough Potassium and 70% of Americans do not get enough Magnesium.†

The Science Behind The Ingredients In Alkalizer Powder

Research published in Nutrients states that magnesium may enhance exercise performance in humans. Magnesium is an essential mineral that plays a critical role in the human body. It takes part in the process of energy metabolism and assists the maintenance of normal muscle function. A number of studies evaluated the association between Magnesium status/supplementation and exercise performance and found that the need for Magnesium increased as individuals’ physical activity level went up. Animal studies indicated that Magnesium might improve exercise performance via enhancing glucose availability in the brain, muscle and blood; and reducing/delaying lactate accumulation in the muscle. [1]

Research from Endocrine Practice states that supplementation with Potassium Citrate may help to support bone health and structure by protecting the skeleton from bone resorption as a result of high acid levels in the human body. Diets rich in animal protein, such as the typical American diet, are thought to create a high acid load. An association between acid load and bone loss has led to the idea that providing positive alkaline salt therapy could have beneficial effects on bone metabolism. [2]

Research published in Amino Acids explains how supplementing with Beta-alanine can help muscle performance during high intensity workouts as it acts as a buffer to combat lactic acid build up in the muscles that cause muscle fatigue. Physicochemical buffers in the muscle, of which carnosine is one, provide the first line of defense against local changes in pH. As such, any means of increasing the ability of the muscle to buffer the Hydrogen produced during high-intensity exercise, is likely to be of value to athletes and athletic individuals. Beta-alanine is the rate limiting precursor to the synthesis of carnosine within muscle fibers. [3]
