The Science Behind The Ingredients Within Protective Hand Cream

Research from Current Drug Targets Immune, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders states that using Green Tea extract may help to protect the health of the skin in humans. The animal and human studies suggest that green tea polyphenols are photo-protective in nature, and can be used as skin protection agents. Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of green tea were also observed in human skin. Treatment of EGCG to human skin resulted in the inhibition of UVB-induced cellular damage, oxidative stress and infiltration of inflammatory leukocytes. [1]

Research from the Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology found that Rice bran flour has been found to hydrate the skin while fighting free radical damage in the skin cells in humans. [2]

Research published in Molecules states how Aloe Vera nourishes and protects the skin as well as strengthens the skin by promoting repair. Aloe vera was said to hydrate and moisturize the skin while protecting the skin’s integrity. Aloe vera gel can not only promote the increase of collagen in wounds but also change the composition of collagen, increase collagen cross-linking and thereby promote wound healing. Scientific studies have shown that the gel can increase the flexibility and reduce the fragility of the skin since 99% of the gel is water. [3]

Research published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology states that the use of Bilberry in hand cream products helped to protect skin against UV light damage from the sun. Bilberry contains a high antioxidant component. Bilberry extract was said to protect against premature aging and wrinkles as well. [4]
