Quercetin Supplement
Quercetin is a plant-based flavonoid, sometimes referred to as a citrus bioflavonoid, found naturally in some of the healthiest known food sources, such as dark berries, tomatoes, and tea. It is involved in several inflammatory and immune functions in the body, such as preventing histamine from entering the immune cells, regulating the body’s inflammatory process, and promoting proper insulin excretion.†
Quercetin also provides nutritional support for the prostate and bladder. Quercetin also supports respiratory health, as it has been shown to protect sinuses, nasal passageways and the throat. It also offers cardiovascular support for those with healthy blood pressure already within a normal range.†

The Science Behind Quercetin
Research from Reviews in Urology states that Quercetin has antioxidants as well as anti-inflammatory properties that help to support prostate health and protect against chronic inflammation by blocking the signaling for inflammatory cytokine production in men. [1]
Research published in Pharmacology Review states that Quercetin contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that allows for protection of the cells, especially due to oxidative stress.[2]
Research from Advances in Integrative Medicine found that supplementation with Quercetin has a protective effect for the upper respiratory tract and overall lung function and health. This is partly due to its flavonoids which help to regulate inflammatory cytokine production in the lungs. [3]
Research from Medicines states that supplementing with Quercetin helps to protect the sinuses. It goes on to say that Quercetin enhances the production of what is called Thioredoxin. Thioredoxin acts as both a scavenger of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and an immuno-modulator, meaning it helps to regulate the immune system response, especially in the nasal cavity and sinuses. [4]
