Soluble Fiber Blend

Dr. Pressman's Soluble Fiber Blend is a fiber supplement that contains Fibersol-2™, a starch that is 90% dietary fiber and it is resistant to our digestive abilities, which helps to supply bulk to the stool to aid regularity and normal-healthy bowel functions.†

Clinical studies show that Fibersol-2™ helps to relieve occasional constipation and select studies show that it improves stool consistency. When taken with a meal, Fibersol-2™ digestion resistant maltodextrin, may help attenuate the rise in serum glucose following the meal. Fibersol-2™ has the potential to reduce peak postprandial blood glucose and insulin levels that are within the normal range in healthy individuals. This may even help support the level of triglycerides that are already within a healthy range. Fibersol-2™ may support satiety helping you feel fuller for a longer time after the meal.†

The Science Behind The Ingredients Within Soluble Fiber Blend

A randomized, controlled trial published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition explains how supplementation of Fibersol®-2 can benefit health in humans. Fibersol®-2 is a digestion-resistant maltodextrin fiber that acts as a low-calorie bulking agent, recognized as GRAS by the FDA. It has been found that supplementing with Fibersol®-2 can help to benefit gut health by favorably altering the microbiome and bacterial balance through the entire body, thereby modulating whole-body inflammation and enhancing the human system. [1]

A Randomized, controlled trial published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition states that supplementation with the resistant maltodextrin, Fibersol®-2 helps to contribute to gut health and overall health in humans. Resistant maltodextrin supplementation was well tolerated, resulted in favorable fermentation characteristics in the large bowel, and also resulted in many other health factors like immune system and cognitive enhancement.  It was also found that supplementation brought about favorable fecal characteristics, and fecal microbiota in healthy adult humans, enhanced digestion and being partially fermented by colonic bacteria to short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) promoting the health of the colon. [2]

Research published in the Journal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology found that supplementation with Fibersol®-2 helped to improve blood parameters in humans. It was found that supplementing with Fibersol®-2 helped to maintain cholesterol, lipids and blood sugar already within normal ranges in human participants. It was concluded from this study that supplementing with Fibersol®-2 may improve the risk factors of metabolic syndrome by reducing visceral fat and improving glucose and lipid metabolism. [3]

A review of research published in Clinical and Experimental Gastroenterology found that supplementation with resistant maltodextrin, Fibersol®-2 helped to promote bowel health and regularity in human participants which contributes to overall health. It was found that supplementation with Fibersol®-2 significantly increased stool volume and stool frequency compared with placebo intake. [4]
