Gentle Facial Moisturizer for Clear Skin

Formulated in a vegetable base, Gentle Facial Moisturizer for Clear Skin is lightweight, non-greasy and created for individuals with problem skin, including blemishes, oily-skin and blocked pores. The uniqueness of the product is partially due to Azelaic Acid, extracted from whole grains, that helps remove impurities without the over-drying that commonly results from Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid. Ingredients like Tea Tree, Neem Seed, and Grapefruit oils help calm the skin due to their soothing properties and help to control oil. Licorice extract helps maintain even skin tone. Aloe Vera, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E help rejuvenate irritated skin. Green Tea allows for healthy hydration and supports a youthful appearance. Made without harmful chemicals that irritate sensitive skin and is non-comedogenic (will not block pores).†

Important Components of Gentle Facial Moisturizer for Clear Skin

  • Helpful no matter the season, as common drying-ingredients and hot showers can strip skin of essential oils
  • Can be used on oily skin - light-weight and non-greasy
  • Great under makeup

The Science Behind The Ingredients In Gentle Facial Moisturizer

Research from Current Drug Targets Immune, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders states that using Green Tea extract may help to protect the health of the skin in humans. The animal and human studies suggest that green tea polyphenols are photo-protective in nature, and can be used as skin protection agents. Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of green tea were also observed in human skin. Treatment of EGCG to human skin resulted in the inhibition of UVB-induced cellular damage, oxidative stress and infiltration of inflammatory leukocytes. [1]

Research from the Journal of Food Science and Technology states how grape seed extract contributes to the health and protection of the skin in humans. Grape seed extract is a great source of vitamins and fiber. The skin and seeds of grapes are highly rich in Polyphenols, specifically proanthocyanidins, which can be used as a functional ingredient to support boosting of the natural bio-processes of the body. Through different and various studies, it was proved that the proanthocyanidin-rich grape seed extract provides benefits such as for inflammation, cardiovascular health, blood pressure maintenance, blood sugar maintenance and immune system function. [2]

Research published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology states that the use of Bilberry in hand cream products helped to protect skin against UV light damage from the sun. Bilberry contains a high antioxidant component. Bilberry extract was said to protect against premature aging and wrinkles as well. [3]

A study published in Connective Tissue Research explains how Alpha Lipoic Acid helps to increase the production of collagen in the skin and helps to neutralize free radicals while at the same time recycling antioxidants like vitamin E and C for the promotion of skin health in humans. [4]
