Sterols Formula
Sterols Formula contains herbs and other nutrients to support blood lipids already within a normal range. Red Yeast Rice, Phytosterols from soy, plant derived Guggul lipids, and EPA from fish help support lipid level balance. Policosanol may help protect the lining of blood vessel walls. Chromium, a micro-mineral, helps support metabolism and artichoke supports liver health; both balanced metabolism and liver health are required to support healthy blood lipid levels.†

PODCAST EPISODE: How Sterols Support Your Heart & Healthy Cholesterol
The Science Behind The Ingredients Within Sterols Formula
A review of research published in the British Journal of Pharmacology found that supplementation with plant sterols produced a significant decrease in blood serum cholesterol of human participants with elevated apolipoprotein levels, a known inflammatory marker in cardiovascular disease. Since patients with elevated apolipoprotein levels are ‘hyper-absorbers’ of cholesterol, they show a clearer reduction in cholesterol levels under plant sterols supplementation. [1]
Research published in the Methodist Debakey cardiovascular Journal states that consumption of Red Yeast Rice Extract helps to support heart health and maintain healthy cholesterol levels already within normal range. The research went on to state that Red Yeast Rice contains Monacolin K. Consuming monacolin K on a daily basis reduces low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol plasma levels between 15% and 25% within 6 to 8 weeks. The decrease in LDL-cholesterol is accompanied by a similar reduction in total cholesterol, non–high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, plasma apolipoprotein B, and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein. [2]
Current findings published in Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience reported on the brain health benefits of supplementing with EPA from fish. For example, beneficial effects in mood and lipid levels have more consistently been reported in clinical trials using EPA. [3]
Research published in Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity states that supplementation with Policosanol helps to support healthy blood pressure and heart function. This is due to Policosanol’s ability to utilize LDL and HDL and improve their functionalities. This was seen in participants who already had blood pressure within normal ranges. In other words, supplementation with Policosanol enhances the beneficial functions of HDL and maximizes its antioxidant abilities. [4]
