The Science Behind Ingredients In Cartilage Hx®
UC-II® is the undenatured form of type II collagen, a nutritional supplement, and is derived from chicken sternum cartilage. It is a powdered, glycosylated, and shelf-resistant component. UC-II® is also a shock absorber, made out of Type II Collagen. Cartilage Hx® helps support knee function in healthy adults during strenuous exercise and may also support joint health. Collagen, the most abundant protein of mammals, has specific connective tissue types for skin, bones and cell surfaces, while type II collagen (UC-II®) forms the main structure of cartilage tissue.
