Resveratrol Supplement

Resveratrol is a compound found naturally in the skins of red grapes. It is commonly known as the “red wine antioxidant” due to its dark pigment, rather than the alcohol content. A superior Resveratrol supplement offers the benefits of red wine, without the calories, belly fat and toxicity to the liver. Resveratrol is a widely studied antioxidant that has been shown to support brain health and memory function, healthy circulation, and may support blood sugar already within a normal range.†

Important Components of Resveratrol

Polygonum cuspidatum, also known as the giant knotweed plant, is a traditional herbal medicine that provides a stable source of Resveratrol. Grape Seed Extract provides flavonoids called Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins, or OPCs, to support the immune system, skin, intestines, arteries and heart. Grape Seed Extract has also been shown to be protective in mediating inflammatory pathways, thereby further supporting healthy circulation.†

The Science Behind Resveratrol

Research published in Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity states that resveratrol helps to modulate the immune system and acts as a potent antioxidant. This was seen as supplementation with resveratrol increased the number of helper T-cells along with significant decreases in circulating, inflammatory cytokines in human subjects. [1]

Research from Molecules states that consumption of resveratrol from red wine exhibited a health supportive action for heart health and function. The mechanisms responsible for its cardio-protective effects would include changes in lipid profiles, reduction of insulin resistance, and decrease in oxidative stress of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). [2]

A study published in Phytotherapy Research states that supplementing with resveratrol from grape seed extract helped obese human subjects with heart health and function. This was seen by a reduction in oxidative stress among these participants. Among the decreased biomarkers of inflammation both c-reactive protein and neuropeptide Y were observed after supplementation with the grape seed extract. [3]
