The Science Behind The Ingredients Within Moisturizing Conditioner

Research from the International Journal of Oncology states that green tea consumption can help to nourish and protect the skin and hair follicles in humans. The polyphenolic properties of green tea helps to clean up oxidative damage in the cells and helps to alleviate inflammation. The EGCG’s in green tea helps to protect the skin against UV light damage from the sun. [1]

Research published in Genes and Nutrition found that walnut oil helps to contribute to hair and skin health in a variety of ways. Walnuts contain beneficial omega 3’s that help to moisturize, hydrate and nourish the skin. The nutritional content in walnut oil also acts as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory protecting skin and hair from oxidative damage. [2]

Research published in Molecules states how Aloe Vera nourishes and protects the skin and hair as well as strengthens the skin by promoting repair. Aloe vera was said to hydrate and moisturize the skin and hair while protecting the skin’s integrity. Aloe vera gelcan not only promote the increase of collagen in wounds but also change the composition of collagen, increase collagen cross-linking and thereby promote wound healing. Scientific studies have shown that the gel can increase the flexibility and reduce the fragility of the skin since 99% of the gel is water. [3]

A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology found that using a conditioner with hydrolyzed silk protein helped to protect hair follicles and prevent further damage from dying the hair in human participants. The hydrolyzed silk protein strengthens, rebuilds and repairs hair follicles. [4]
