Description

Determine if you’re aging faster than normal. We measure the protective end caps of your DNA (called telomeres) and compare your cellular age to normal levels for people your chronological age. Repeat testing can help you evaluate how your diet and exercise changes are impacting your quality of life. Telomere lengths should be in a longer healthy range for predicting longevity and health-span. The length of your telomeres is not etched in stone and can be shortened by bad habits and lengthened by good habits.

Scientists have understood the basic mechanism of telomeres, these small zipper-like capsules that bind our DNA genetic material and enable us to precisely reproduce healthy cells, for almost two decades. As each cell replicates (replacing a senescent cell with a new healthy one), the telomere shortens and the potential life-cycle of the cell diminishes slightly until there is no more telomere and cell death occurs. Researcher published in the journal Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology shows that telomere shortening accurately predicts the risk of developing heart disease, having a heart attack and suffering an early death from all causes. The Researchers from The University of Copenhagen in Denmark examined the DNA of 20,000 Danes to analyze their specific telomere length, an established measurement of cellular aging. The participants were followed for a period of nineteen years and the results demonstrated that when the telomere length was short, the risk of heart attack was increased by 50 percent and the risk of early death was increased by 25 percent.

Technology Matters

Our partners at Kashi Clinical Laboratories use the latest in quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction instrumentation with a high degree of sensitivity for detecting gene snips accurately.

Scientific rigor matters

SNP’s are only included in our panels when peer reviewed studies show there is a clear connection with treatment decision making, the studies are relevant across a range of population types, clinical intervention is indicated, and that nutritional or other lifestyle choices can affect the regulation of gene expression.

Results and Resources

Your results will be ready within 5-7 business days of receipt at the lab. Once your results are ready, an InVite® certified healthcare professional will contact you to discuss your results and recommend a supplement protocol based on your specific results.

The programs listed below are recommendations from InVite® Experts and have been developed based on the individual gene mutations that may show up on your test results. Once your results are ready, an InVite® Expert will guide you through the best program for your needs.
