Core Probiotic*

Core Probiotic* supplies 52.5 billion colony-forming units (CFUs) of nine healthy probiotic bacterial species to support digestive health, regularity, and the 70% of the immune system related to the digestive tract.†

Important Components of Core Probiotic*
Research has shown that a certain amount of “good” bacteria in your intestines is necessary for proper digestion and overall health. The body needs certain strains of this healthy bacteria to counteract the negative effects of unhealthy bacteria that often lead to digestive concerns, such as bloating and gas, improper immune system function, and skin concerns, such as acne.†

  • CFU, or colony forming units, means the bacteria can survive and thrive in your system, establishing colonies of useful bacteria for optimal health benefit

The Science Behind Ingredients In Core Probiotic

Research from Frontiers in Microbiology states that Bifidobacteria helps its human host in a number of ways including with colon regularity. A number of studies have reported improvements in colon regularity following ingestion of fermented milk products that contain Bifidobacteria. Two studies have associated the supplementation of certain bifido-bacterial strains with the improvement in bowel regularity. [1]

A study published in Tropical Life Sciences Research found that supplementation with Lactobacillus acidophilus helped to promote a healthy immune response. This specific strain of probiotic was seen to act as an anti-inflammatory by downregulating inflammatory cytokines in humans. [2]

A randomized, clinical trial published in the Journal of Breath explains how using an oil containing Lactobacillus Salivarius helped with oral health in humans. It was also found that total bacterial numbers decreased, and the number of L. salivarius increased. [3]
