Monascus purpureus, a red-pigmented yeast grown on rice has been shown to provide monacolins and phytosterols, which are important agents in the maintenance of healthy cholesterol levels.  In addition to providing 2.4 grams of red yeast rice, this product also contains 60 mg of Coenzyme Q10, an antioxidant for the heart that protects the cholesterol making pathways.

  • Suggested serving size is 2 capsules two to four times daily, or as directed by a health practitioner.
  • This product has been formulated to provide minimal levels of the naturally-occurring mycotoxin citrinin.
  • Known side effects include gastritis, abdominal discomfort, elevated liver enzymes as well as side-effects similar to statin drugs HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors).
