You know the saying “good things come in small packages”? This is certainly the case when we speak of an herbal tincture. Benefits of White Tea Extract

This herbal tea tincture yields a high amount of catechins, a highly potent antioxidant derived from tea. White tea is very unique in the way it is harvested. Not only does white tea provide substantial amounts of antioxidants including EGCG (with a different balance of constituents that is found in green tea), white tea naturally contains high amounts of both L-theanine and GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid).1 Both GABA and L-theanine have been studied in the setting of relieving stress and promoting a general sense of wellness.2 Knowing the state of the poor nutritional habits of many Americans3, especially when it comes to beverages, having an option such as a white tea extract can be very beneficial.†

White tea has also been studied in the setting of weight loss; consuming white tea on a regular basis has been clinically shown to have positive benefits on those pesky fat cells.4 A recent study in Germany showed that when human fat cells, also known as adipocytes, were exposed to white tea extract, the results were remarkable in terms of shrinking fat cells. As published in the Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism, researchers concluded that fat cells were less likely to grow or create new fat cells when exposed to white tea extract, all the while the existing fat cells were more likely to shrink or simply go away.† 

As with so many nutrients found in nature, there are often multiple health benefits we can gain. As we have seen with white tea extract, we not only can enhance mood, support healthy weight, maintain healthy cardiovascular and brain function, but we can also gain oral health benefits, as well. Clinical data has shown that white tea provides significant health benefits for our teeth and gums.5 As described in the Journal of Dental Research, white tea extract has natural fluoride to prevent dental caries (cavities), catechins help to fend off plaque buildup, and tannins help breakdown harmful starches that are related to developing cavities.6†
