Chrysin is a natural flavone found in small amounts in plants. Like many
polyphenol flavones, Chrysin has powerful antioxidant effects and may lower
cellular inflammation partially by a modest effect on the troublesome COX-2
enzyme. Chrysin is a natural anxiolytic and may benefit anxiety and stress.
Chrysin also has a favorable effect on blood vessel walls easing blood flow and
supporting healthy blood pressure.
However, the main use for Chrysin is to
support male function. As men age, testosterone becomes more attached to blood
proteins making it less available to exert its favorable effects. One of these
encumbered effects of Testosterone is decreased libido. There is also a drop in
physical strength, decreased energy, decreased resistance to infection, and an
increase in bone mineral loss. As men age Chrysin has been shown to enhance sex
drive, support performance and intensity of pleasure and support male function
in many respects.
Unfortunately Chrysin is normally poorly absorbed. The addition of the
natural alkaloid Bioperine improves its availability significantly.
